Event date: 6/01/2018 11:30 AM - 5:30 PM
The family fun of the Interislander Summer Festival continues in 2018 on Saturday 6 January.
A regular feature of many families over the summer holidays is a day out at the family friendly thoroughbred race meeting.
Friendly Family Fun
Interislander Summer Festival events have everything we love about the classic Kiwi summer - family, fun, food and sunshine!
There is something for everyone to enjoy - young families, teenagers, groups of friends or punters! The kids will be spoilt for choice, with the More FM Kids Go Racing team providing plenty of free entertainment for under 12s.
If you want to get organised, book your spot and food in advance, or pack a picnic and we’ll see you on the day – it’s your holiday, you make the rules!
Check out the photos from last year to see how relaxed and fun the day is at www.ruakakaracing.co.nz/Gallery/Tabld/10801/emodule/39351/egallery/1047/Default.aspx
Bring your picnic and gazebo and set the family up for a great day of racing. The first 15 sites along the track have been reserved with pre-payment but there is room for many more. Bar, betting facilities, food vans and toilets just up the slope. Be close to the racing action with your own cover and chairs.
Note: No BYO alcohol is permitted at the Ruakaka Racecourse. Bags and chilly bins will be inspected on arrival.
Rustic Barn and Courtyard Marquee Open
Enjoy your day at the races under cover with all the facilities nearby and a great elevated spot to watch the racing live or on the big screen. Close by are the food vans, bar (cash or Eftpos), betting windows, toilets and the live music from A2Stix.

The only opportunity left to book for lunch is in the Bonecrusher Lounge where we have 3 tables remaining for A'Fare Catering two course lunch and three complimentary drinks with race book and gate entry at $60pp. This is the prime location for your group to base yourself for the day.
