Christmas at the Races - Our hospitality spots are filling up!
Limited space in the Corona Courtyard Marquee and Beachside Bar; and only 2 marquees available in Santa's Trackside Marquee Village. Stable Lawn and Rustic barn are closed off.
Many local businesses and their social clubs have booked an entertaining end of year celebrating by being at the Ruakaka races on Tuesday December 18. The racing provides a great escape from those work conversations and a chance to mix and mingle as you watch the racing, enjoy the live entertainment and festive styled lunch.
We have only limited availability in our function areas but the numbers attending can move around so check with the Office initially by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or Phone 09 432 7249. Catering provided by Brett Taylor of Tee Cafe.
If you don't wish to book a function we have ample undercover bench seating in the grandstand or take advantage of the hill lawn that provides an amphitheatre for great viewing of the races. The race viewing is complimented by two big screens located to provide everyone with great vision of the back straight.
Entry to the course is $5 for person's aged 18 yo and over with the return Whangarei bus service free. Please advise the Club if you have a group catching the bus and we will advise the best location for pick up and the time. We are a NO BYO venue and provide several bar and food outlets with cash services. EFTPOS is available at a number of betting windows but no credit card services are provided.
There will be no Fashions in the Field competitions but we will have our team checking out the styles on the day and spot prizes for great Christmas themed race wear will be awarded.
The man in the big red suit will be making an appearance on the day and to help guide your betting we will have "Santa's Picks" - you will recognise those picks as the jockey will be using "Santa's traditional red cap".
Live entertainment is by local Ruakaka based musician Tammy D'Ath. Join in with the Christmas songs or dance to her own tunes.

Remember a race meeting is an outdoor sporting event and there may be changes to times and conditions from the impact of weather. Also please consider the weather conditions when attending, particularly if your function is outside.
Currently we intend to start race 1 at 1.42pm and the last of seven races will be at 5.22pm. The schedule of bus times and pick up points will be announced closer to the race meeting.
