Celebration of Ruakaka's Racing Heritage
The Whangarei Racing Club started racing at the current Ruakaka Racecourse on 27 May 1977, just over 40 years ago. Previously racing had been held at Kensington Park since 1894 with the current Club formed on 18 June 1902.
Come and join current and past Members, friends and racing participants as they chat about the build of the course and the racing since that first day. A great time to catch up with your racing friends and get together at the racecourse.
It is also the running of Northland's premium race, the $70,000 Group 3 - Tavistock Northland Breeders Stakes for three years old.
