Stakemoney rises by 40% The Saturday 2 September meeting features the Harcourts High Tea at the Races in support of North Haven Hospice. The eight race programme has significantly higher stakemoney on offer compared to two years ago. For example the open races are $35,000 compared to $25,00; rating 85's are $30,000 not $20,000; the 3yo SW&P has increased from $17,500 to $25,000; the rating 75's are up by $6,500 to $25,000 and the rating 65's are $22,500. Overall the total prizes on the day will be $215,000, an increase of $60,500 or nearly 40% up on September 2015. No doubt some of the owners south of Auckland would say it is worth the drive over the harbour bridge and up the road a bit.
