Remembering Ila Johnson (Grandma J) A large group of the Johnson related family will be attending the races on Saturday for the race named in remembrance of Ila Johnson who was a very keen horse women and fan of attending the local Ruakaka races. The photo depicts Ila on 100th birthday being joined by leading international rider James McDonald and leading trainer Donna Logan in the grandstand seats at the course. The meeting is the ideal forum for such an occasion as the crowd will have many three generations of families that are holidaying or visiting together. There will be a lot of entertainment beyond the racing with live music by A2Stix, lots of More FM kids activities including some challenges on the track, the Punters Club can help you find a winner, a wide range of food vendors including the very tasty A'Fare Catering, with a big screen to show you all the action on and off the track.
