Getting the plan together for the races on Saturday.

Lets hope the Metservice are right with much needed good falls of rain on Wednesday/Thursday and a clearing weather pattern for raceday on Saturday for the Interislander Summer Festival meeting.

Getting on track. First race planned for 12.30pm.

There is free car parking for those who drive but the Club also provides a free bus service from the pick up points as displayed above. For local groups who wish to attend at later times you could consider the new local taxi service of David Corkill - Marsden Point Taxi - 021 032 7660. David services Waipu to One Tree Point.

The gate charge is $10 with under18's free entry. The kids will be spoilt for choice, with the More FM Kids Go Racing team providing plenty of free entertainment for under 12s.

If you have not been before then check out the photos from last year at . See the photos and you will appreciate the family friendly and casual holiday crowd that attends.

Race start times will not be confirmed until Wednesday so please check on this website or the TAB or NZ Thoroughbred Racing.

What do I bring?

There are options to be inside a function room, under the Corona Courtyard marquee, seated in the undercover area of the grandstand or the Rustic Barn at no extra charge. Or if you prefer, as many do, bring your own gazebo to be safely erected and secured on the sloped grounds. The premium 15 spots have been reserved at an extra fee by past regulars of the event. Many guests bring their picnic rug and low level chairs to sit out on the grounds rather than in the grandstand which can fill early.

Our liquor licence was amended by the local authorities preventing us from offering the limited BYO we previously allowed; and of course we have to enforce that so there will be bag inspection spots as you enter either of the two gates.

The food police haven't been on to us yet so you are welcome to bring the left over Christmas ham for lunch. Alternatively we have A'Fare Catering working out of the function rooms with both sit down or take-away options. A pre-booked platter makes it quicker on the day, contact Rebecca at

At the northern end of the course on the elevated mound, just past the Rustic Barn, there will be a range of catering vans offering a choice including:

Zippy's; Paella-By Di-zine; Hells Pizza; Hot Dog Express; Alvin- Whitebait Fritters and Travelling Crepes.

In the More FM Kids Go Racing area (southern end of the course) will be Mr Whippy and Kids First.

Best of all bring the family for a relaxed entertaining day of racing, watch as MC Andre Neil manages the kids activities including some that allow the kids to be on the track and be a star on the big screen; watch the Pulse Dancing performances; join More FM Thommo's Punters Club and let him do the betting.
