The Whangarei Racing Club congratulates the Logan Racing team, headed at Ruakaka by Chris Gibbs and Michelle Bradley, on the wonderful success of their talented mare Danzdanzdance in winning consecutive Group One races.

What a year of 2018 for this Mastercraftsman four-years old grey mare!

After breaking her maiden status in the Trigg Construction Maiden over 1400 metres at the Interislander Summer Festival meeting at Ruakaka on January 6th she has had a further nine starts, including two in Sydney. Her wins include the two Group 1 races, the Rydges Wellinton Captain Cook Stakes and the Cambridge Stud Zabeel Classic. In addition, she was placed in the Vodafone NZ Derby, Livamol Classic, and Electrolux Avondale Guineas to earn a total of $435,000 in prize money in the calendar year.

The other smart runner that surfaced at that Interislander Summer Festival meeting last January was Richie McHorse, who went on to be another open cup winner for Logan Racing during the winter.

The nominations for the January 5th 2019 Interislander Summer Festival come out on January 1st and it will be interesting to see if there is another quality horse on the way up like Danzdanzdance. Not only is the day a great family day but the quality of runners can unearth a future star.

To enjoy the day with your friends we have a two-course lunch with reserved seating in the Bonecrusher Lounge.
